FINANCIAL AID

If you are an Arkansas resident,
you qualify for LEARNS funds!

Education Freedom Account (EFA)

Arkansas Learns Act

The Arkansas LEARNS Act, passed by the Arkansas

legislature in 2021 provides qualifying students an Educational Freedom Account (EFA) which contains funds that can be used to pay for a portion of private school tuition. The board of directors of SCA have committed to keeping our tuition rates and fees close to the EFA funding amount so that qualifying students may attend with little out-of-pocket costs. EFA provides up to

$6,856 during the 2024-25 school year, and may be used to pay for private school tuition, fees, uniforms, and some other required expenses.

Applications for LEARNS FOR 2026-2027 may be taken in March, 2026. The exact tuition amount will be announced in February or before that date.

Philanthropic Investment in Arkansas Kids (PIAK)

The Philanthropic Investment in Arkansas Kids provides vital funding for eligible students to attend private schools. A student is eligible for the program if the student’s family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.

ELIGIBILITY: Families qualify based on household income. Any student whose family income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty line, or about $62,400 for a family of four, is qualified to apply for the PIAK program. Students must have attended public school in the prior year, unless they have a disability or are new to Arkansas schools.

PLUS: Income-qualified families of a student with a disability identified under the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), can participate in both the PIAK program and the EFA program. Students with disabilities need not have attended public school in the prior year.

USE: Scholarships can be used to pay for tuition and fees at participating private schools.

ACE Scholarships

Southwest Christian Academy partners with ACE Scholarships to provide more options for families.

ACE scholarships are based solely on family income. See the chart for ACE Scholarship financial eligibility.  ACE Scholarships are partial tuition, intended to provide added assistance lower-income families may need to enroll their child in a private school. Standard ACE award amounts are $3,000 for K-8 and $4,000 for high school (9-12). Families are responsible for working out a payment plan with the school for the remainder of the tuition.

Folds of Honor Scholarships

Assistance is available for children of fallen soldiers and first responders.

Since 2007, the Folds of Honor organization has provided life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military. And now, their mission expands to the families of America’s first responders. On our watch, those who protect our freedoms and our families will know they are not forgotten.
