After Five Seasons of Tackle Football, SCA Makes Plans To Upgrade Field
The Administration of SCA is dedicated to the development of strong athletic programs, and in October of 2001 SCA demonstrated that commitment by building a $1.1 million gymnasium which is still one of the nicest basketball and volleyball facilities in our state association. The facility has been enjoyed by all age groups as it also hosted numerous plays, programs, and events.

SCA also has demonstrated a commitment to the sport of football by literally introducing 8-man football to the state of Arkansas five years ago as a founding member of the first 8-man league. Last year we stretched to offer elementary football to our students by joining the private school football league.

Now, SCA believes it is time to stretch again. Our desire to move our program to an 11-man format dictates that we lengthen our field, and make other improvements that are considered to be the most basic stadium requirements. Our plan is to be developed in three phases:

Phase I - Lengthen Field to 100 yards, Entry Gate/Fence, Sidewalks, Bleachers, Scoreboard, and Goal Posts.

Phase II - Press Box, Sound System, Play Clocks, Concession Stand, Field Barrier Fence

Phase III - Lights

As always, we are commited to spending only what is necessary, and relying upon friends of SCA to volunteer their labor. We believe that we can accomplish Phase I this summer if we can raise $20,000 through donations and pledges. Several people have already come forward to commit their abilities and resources to accomplishing this goal, however we need many more partners see this dream become a reality.

Here is how you can help:

1. Become a partner - You can make a donation online through Google Checkout by clicking the "Donate" button on this screen. You may also pledge a donation payable monthly through November if you wish. Contact us at development@swchristian.com with your pledge or with questions.

2. Recruit other partners - 20 people pledging $1000 completely funds phase I. 40 people pledging $500 gets it done too. The more we have getting involved, the sooner we'll be able to complete Phase I and move on to Phase II.

3. Commit your time - We'll need laborers to shovel dirt, lay sod, lay block, form up sidewalks, install scoreboard, and erect fence.

4. Provide materials - If you have materials or have access to people with any of the materials we need, please contact us. Whatever funds we are able to save will get us that much closer to starting Phase II.
